Cougar Club. Maceli's (Lawrence, KS). April 16, 2026 Cougar Club is all about supporting that mid-life magic and is making its way to Lawrence for all the baddies that want to get out and throw down early!! Event starts at 6:30pm. The Rich Aunties will be slapping down open format, throwback to contemporary bangers. This month's theme is: Cougar Coachella. Play with the theme however you want:3

Bembe Night 20 Year Reunion. The Ship (KCMO). April 24, 2026
Bembe Nights celebrates women DJs and the many sounds that move a dance floor — from afrobeat, house, drum’n’bass, to jungle, and beyond.
Bembé means party — and that spirit has always been at the heart of Bembe Nights, created by Dr. Violet Dream (formerly Madame E) twenty years ago. Inspired by her studies in the Spanish language and Afro-Latin and Gulf music traditions, the night was originally imagined as a world-music gathering. Influences like the legendary Cuban singer Omara Portuondo and her collaborations with Buena Vista Social Club helped shape that early vision. But like any good party, Bembe Nights evolved. Over time, it grew into a space that celebrated women DJs and the many sounds that move a dance floor — from afrobeat, house, drum’n’bass, jungle, and beyond.
For this special reunion, three DJs who have shared the booth at Bembe over the years are coming back together — not just as artists, but as friends and collaborators who helped shape nights that Kansas City dancers still talk about.
cQuence opens the night with sexy, rolling drum’n’bass and jungle, setting the tone and warming up the room. From there, Dr. Violet Dream and DJ Amanda take the journey into the heart of the dance floor with house music rhythms that will keep bodies moving late into the night.
